Just a quick post…been super busy in the law practice, so my time has been away from the Boxx…but here are some favorites of mine from throughout the blogosphere over the past few days…
Esther…no more words are needed.

God Bless the US of A. See more pics on 2dopeboyz.
Also saw this pic of McCain that made me chuckle. Comparing my mans to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. How about concentrating on policies and not Barack Obama?

Shouts to the homie Kenny and his blog. I got you fam. Obama all the way for me. (Peep the new banner.) Almost ready to take Luda and his new mixtape off my blog for that dumb shit he did. I swear, we are going to lose this election for my dude if we don’t go sit somewhere, vote, and let this man do what he does.
In music, make sure you download this mixtape highlighting some of the best that the DMV has to offer. I will admit that I usually rep the Clipse (757) and Skillz (804), but Wale has helped to change my view of DC/MD/NOVA hip hop.

In sports, I’m not saying I told you so…but I told you so. I don’t know though…I think I would take that severance package and call it a day ($20 million over 10 years…see ya!)
If you watched the US’ sloppy but impressive win over Turkey, you saw Kobe and majority of the players wearing the Nike Hyperdunk “United We Rise” sneaker. Here is a shot of them, courtesy of Nicekicks.

Lastly, check out my homegirl Kris and her new blog, Pocketbook Protest. Kris is a fellow attorney moonlighting as a blogger in her downtime.
Let’s see…sneakers, sports, hip hop…oh, and females. Exactly what the Sneakerboxx is all about. Peace to Ice, Des, J Long, Landis91, and Barack Obama.

I need for this to be a comedy. I really do. How and why did this country elect this guy two times? And how must it sting for this movie to be released while he’s still in office? That’s that ether right there. Shouts to Oliver Stone.

Time to be real. Not a big Luda fan. Didn’t even listen to the first 2 albums. Played the rest sparingly. He’s good for singles, but too much Luda can make you well, crazy. I’ll check this out though. Then go back to that Untitled album. (”Fried chicken, fly vixen…”)
Get it from Des, I’m too lazy.

DETROIT (AP) — Kwame Brown and the Detroit Pistons agreed to terms on a deal potentially worth $8 million over two seasons, team president of basketball operations Joe Dumars told The Associated Press on Monday night.
Brown, the No. 1 pick overall in 2001, will make $4 million next season. If Brown exercises an option for the 2009-10 season, he will play in Detroit for another $4 million. If Brown doesn’t take the option, he become a free agent again next summer and the Pistons won’t owe him anything.
He has averaged just 7.5 points and 5.7 rebounds over his career that started with the Washington Wizards and continued with the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies.
All this teaches is for all of us to pray that our sons grow to be 7 feet tall so they can be paid ridiculous amounts of money and not even be that good. I PROMISE YOU…let me workout for the rest of the summer, invite me to training camp, and I will get you 2 points and a board per game at 6 foot 3. Trust.
How does MJ feel about this?

“Get your money, you bum. I’m a freak these white women and smoke this cigar while I hold the ceiling.”

Just grabbed my pair for $88. How? Enter code “BACKTOSPORT” on Nike.com and get 20% off your $125 order. What did I use to get to $125? A Kobe MVP t-shirt of course along with a pair of USA basketball shorts. On the real, I shoulda copped 2 pair of Hyperdunks. And Eastbay has the Puerto Rico (hard), Germany, and China Hyperdunks for $125.

and guarantees a gold medal for the Redeem Team.
O.K., world, pin this one on your locker-room wall. LeBron James is picturing himself on the Beijing medal stand, gold draping his gargantuan chest. “It’s going to be like waking up on Christmas Day,” says James, the Cleveland Cavalier and global icon who led the NBA in scoring this season. “All you dreamed about this whole month was having that bike you wanted, and you get down to your living room — it’s there. It’s like one of the greatest things that has ever happened to you.” So you’re going to bring a hoops title back home to the U.S., the country that gave birth to the game, reared it and then lost the ball to more graceful global neighbors? “Absolutely,” James responds. Guarantee it? “Absolutely.”

More Nas love, this time from another one of my favorite rappers, Lupe.
NAS is spitting like a demon….first time I experienced multiple “wheel-it-backs” a mere 20 seconds into a song in a longtime….
through the up’s and the down’s N-A-S still holds the crown…well to me anyway…
In his rant, he goes through Nas’ entire career, from Illmatic to Untitled. I pretty much agree with his assessments, although I rode with Nas the entire way (even through God’s Son and the Firm album). Shit, Lupe named himself after the song “Firm Fiasco” on the Firm album.
