Mad Men

I’m about 1/2 of the way through the first season and I must tell you- this show is serious. I usually don’t get into shows about rich white men and their philadering ways, but this show is ill b/c it’s more about the time period (the early 1960s).

Set in New York City, Mad Men takes place in the 1960s at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on New York City’s Madison Avenue and centers on Don Draper, a high-level advertising executive, and the people in his life in and out of the office. It also depicts the changing social mores of early 1960s America.

The show is also created by Matthew Weiner, who was one of the lead writers for the Sopranos. The second season starts July 27 at 10 pm, so I have more viewing to do. Check out Mad Men’s wiki page here and the official site here. Good looks Jay-Slyce.
